Preparation for a Surgical Procedure:

- Their recommendations can be informative and may vary.
- Educate yourself, knowledge can help your decision making process.
- After selecting a physician, familiarize yourself with their literature.
- Especially follow instructions about vitamin and herbal supplements.
- Be aware that some substances must be discontinued before surgery.
- Remember, following all your doctor’s instructions can help your healing.
- Most importantly, get all your prescriptions filled before your surgery date as you’ll need them immediately after your procedure.
Preparation for your Surgery Day:
- if you are not staying at home, pack a small bag with the following items
- a minimal amount of toiletries (toothbrush, deodorant)
- all medications for pre-existing conditions in their original bottles
- all new medications for the surgery, also in their original bottles
- a copy of your doctor’s aftercare instructions
- loose comfortable clothing that you can sleep in
